Meet Grace!

Grace’s mother died while giving birth when Grace was younger. Her father left immediately afterward and his whereabouts remain unknown. Grace and her three younger siblings live with their aunt and uncle and their five children. Grace’s aunt sells vegetables and this is the family’s only source of income. Grace loves to use vegetable scraps and pots to play pretend cooking. Some of her favorite things include learning to read and write, eating nshima and vegetables, drinking Mirinda, the color yellow and zebras. Once while sick, Grace was cared for by compassionate nurses at a clinic. It left an impression on her and she would like to become a nurse and care for others when she is older.
